Well here I am slow again. Last night I saw Twilight with Hillary, Daylarie and Shannie. I enjoyed the movie it. It was a bit choppy and it didn't follow the book exactly. The scenery is absolutely beautiful! I will leave my review at that so as not to spoil it for any out there who have not yet seen it. If you haven't, I challenge you to go and then let us all know how it affected you.

Hillary taught me how to download my pictures finally. In going through them I found this one from last Christmas and we couldn't resist adding this to my blog. ZAK has always had a love of Teddy bears. I guess it followed him into adulthood!

This our classes sunflower glyphs about themselves. Sorry it is on it's side but I can't figure out how to turn it. Maybe that is next weeks lesson. Ha! Ha!
For those that are interested this is whatmy back board looks like in my classroom. We go over each area every morning just after the pledge! Wow what a year! Super busy with a lot of expectations!

Okay so I am not regular at this! Just a note to let all that read that I am so proud to be living in this great country. This being September 11, I tried to explain what it is and the meaning to second graders who were just 1 when that horrible event took place. I tear up even now and amazing so did several of my students. It was touching to see the young patriotism even from those that are not native Americans. I know that this country is protected by Heavenly Father's deep love.

I am sooooo glad that it is almost Friday! This week has seemed so very long---but we were told that on Monday we get to move the third grade into their new rooms. Also the playground is beginning to look play ready. We are all really tired of having the soccer field to run around on and the kids look at all the new play equipment with very loooonging eyes. This construction stuff during a school year has really been a test. Plus now our school is soooo big-about a block and half from one end to the other that we are all feeling the extra walking. It is nice to see the progress, just wish it was faster.

I have some really cute pictures that I will post of my classes sunflower glyphs. They couldn't use scissors, oly tearing the paper to get the sunflower. BUT first I have to find someone to help be download them. Keep watching I will get them on soon!

What a summer!

Where has the time gone! Time to start thinking about the new year but first here is the short version of my summer:
To start I updated the flooring in my home----finally. New carpet, new wood floor in the kitchen and Adam put in tile in the bathroom. It looks sooooo nice.
Next I had my second cataract surgery. All went well and now I can see. I hadn't realized how really blind I had become, sort of scary!
Then the summer school adventure. We had 19 very active, needy upcoming second graders to jumpstart for this coming year. Fun but exhausting!
Core Academy came the next week. Always a great experience and full of great lessons and freebies that I will put to use as soon as I can get in my classroom.
Lastly a week for me to relax where I painted the bathroom and helped Hillary and Daylarie host a yard sale.
Now for the wait. You see my school where I teach is undergoing a HUGE addition--new office area, 9 new classrooms, a new gym and several other small rooms including much needed restrooms. But you see the whole project is running late---didn't we expect that with construction! We are still starting school on time but we can't get in and prepare ahead of time like all teachers do. My frustration has turned to resolve---we are all in the same boat so why not enjoy the extra time of not running over to the school.
That is my summer in a nut shell. I am taking pictures of the school and will learn how to post them soon. Remember it is a school and not the war zone!

Well I am back. I will continue trying this thing out.
I have one more week of summer school and then can begin "summer vacation" as one of my students announced on Monday. Those that know me are saying ---do I really know how to slow down and have a time off?????
But then with my school looking like it belongs on a war front as our construction is coming along (too slow for some of us) I am being forced away from planning for a new school year.
No pictures form this front year---a-a-a-a I am not sure yet how to download them, but will learn soon I hope. Me and technology are not a great combination.
